Hearts Desire Fulfilled

1830709_9009976_lzPsalm 37:4 Delight yourself in the Lord; and He will give you the desires and secret petitions of your heart.

There is a place of intimacy with God so deep, which transcends all our hearts can possibly imagine.  This is the beauty and essence of the glorious promise found in Psalm 37:4.  Many times we seek, what we believe will satisfy us & bring happiness.  We build idols in our hearts that we aimlessly pursue and chase, like one chasing the wind.  All the while our Father, and the lover of our souls is inviting us into true satisfaction and true meaning of having our heart’s desires fulfilled.

Often we believe our Father is opposed to giving us great pleasure in life.  This is just not so.  He desires to lavish His riches, grace, mercy, and blessings upon us.  He wants us to be so fulfilled in this life, that the cup of our hearts remain in a constant state of overflow.

We enter this fulfillment when we learn the beauty of delighting in God.  To delight is to find great pleasure in something.  This is the meaning of delighting in the Lord.  It is finding such great pleasure in intimacy with Him, that we are totally consumed and utterly satisfied.  It is then and only then that we are ready to receive the desires and secret petitions of our heart.  It flows from a satisfied place of delighting in intimacy that we are able to see our heart’s desires, not as the answer to happiness in life, but rather, additional blessings we are given to richly enjoy.

Beloved, let us pursue Him above all else.  Let us seek our satisfaction through the joy of knowing Him.  Let us become so content in pursuing His heart, and all the while, remain continually amazed along the way as we are fulfilled with the secret desires that are stored within our hearts.
